Momma's Applesauce Cake (Thelma Gladys Brumfield Frazier)Edit

This cake is bassed on one in the Watkins cookbook of 19__. The ingrediants were adjusted. Mawmaw (Thelma) used the origional baking instructions. What I have here, however, is adjusted to how I make it with more details and several divisions. One note in the directions Mom (Esther Elizabeth Frazier Perrin) passed on to a friend is that Mawmaw baked it in pound cake (bread loaf) pans, but it works well in smaller loaf pans and bundt pans.

Ingrediants (#'s in parenthsies are origional, I normally double the recipie.)

  • 1 3/4 c sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in hot applesauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • To Be Continued ....
